RTP, house edge and expected loss calculator

Compare up to three published RTP configurations using the same stake and number of rounds. The result translates a percentage into turnover, theoretical return and long-run expected cost. It does not forecast a session, identify a winning game or confirm which configuration is available on Luckly.gg.

Comparison difference

Across 500 rounds at $1.00, the gap between the lowest and highest calculated expected cost is $10.00. This is a long-run mathematical difference, not a minimum saving or a prediction of the next session.

RTP calculator formulas

Total turnover is stake per round multiplied by the number of rounds. House edge is 100% minus the published RTP. Theoretical return is turnover multiplied by RTP, while expected cost is turnover multiplied by the house edge. A 96% RTP therefore becomes a 4% theoretical house edge, but that 4% applies to every unit cycled through the game.

Theoretical RTP is not your session result

The UK Gambling Commission distinguishes the designed or advertised theoretical RTP from actual RTP measured using a large pool of wins and turnover. Actual results can sit well above or below the target while the sample is small. As play volume grows, the measured result should move closer to the theoretical figure, but volatility determines how wide the normal range can be.

This is why a 96% figure never means that a player who starts with 100 will finish with 96. Reused winnings can make turnover much larger than the starting balance, and a volatile game can lose the entire session budget or produce a large win long before its statistical average becomes visible. Previous wins and losses do not make the next random result due.

Check the exact RTP version before comparing

Open the current game's information or paytable screen and record the provider, complete title, RTP figure, rules version and date checked. Do not assume that a percentage copied from a review, another operator or a differently named version applies to the game in front of you. RTP also does not describe volatility, hit frequency, maximum-win probability, bonus eligibility or legal availability.

  • Use the player-facing rules as the controlling source for the configured game.
  • Compare the same stake and round count so the scenarios use equal turnover.
  • Keep feature buys, side bets and promotion contribution rules separate.
  • Never extend a session to make an actual result “catch up” with theoretical RTP.
  • Set a money and time limit that remains safe even if the full amount is lost.

RTP calculator questions

How do you calculate expected loss from RTP?

Subtract RTP from 100% to get the theoretical house edge, then multiply that edge by total turnover. With 96% RTP, the house edge is 4%; 1,000 units of turnover therefore has a long-run expected cost of 40 units.

Does 96% RTP mean I get 96% of my deposit back?

No. RTP applies to total turnover, including money that is won and wagered again, not just the starting deposit. It is a long-run design percentage and does not promise any return during one session.

Can this RTP calculator predict a slot session?

No. It calculates statistical expectation from the values entered. Volatility can make an actual short session finish far above or below that expectation, including a complete loss.

Why can the same slot have different RTP values?

A provider may certify more than one configuration or a feature may have separate rules. Check the exact game help screen, provider, version and market instead of copying a percentage from another website.

Does this page confirm the RTP or availability of a Luckly.gg game?

No. The calculator does not inspect the Luckly.gg lobby or claim that a particular game, RTP setting, currency or promotion is currently available. Enter only a figure shown in the live game rules for your account and region.
